As we approach the end of this challenging school year, I would again like to express my sincere thanks to all of our families and our school staff for the fantastic support in keeping everybody safe and avoiding lots of disruption.
I would also like to express my gratitude for the positive comments that the school has received based on how Tandem IMS has managed the situation over the last year. It has been encouraging to hear that people have been pleased with how the children have been able to have a relatively 'normal' time at school whilst many parents have unfortunately had to endure significant time and stress whilst working from home.
We are beginning to enter a phase with some restrictions being eased. On one side, we are very happy about this, but of course, after all the hard work that we have undertaken this year, it would be a shame to have our efforts ruined at this stage - especially before the summer holidays which everyone (children, parents and staff) will thoroughly deserve.
One easing of restrictions is with regard to 'events' with parents now allowed to take place again. We are currently evaluating whether this makes sense for our Graduation - especially as not all adults wishing to be vaccinated have had their vaccination appointments yet.
While we strongly wish to provide our school community with a positive shared experience - especially after such a long time - we need to carefully 'weigh-up' the potential risks against the happiness that such an occasion would bring. After discussing with my staff, other schools, and the parents on the PTA - a decision will be made on how Graduation will take place this year.
