it is unbelievable to think that we are almost at the end of this school year. Hopefully, Summer will become more settled and give us some lovely sunny days. This school year started with Covid-19 uncertainty and restrictions meaning that we were unable to carry out our usual full itinerary of events. However, now that the vaccination programme is underway we hope that everything will soon return to normal. We thank our dedicated team, parents and children for all of their support and understanding during this challenging period. Wishing you all a wonderful vacation with your families and to everyone moving on we send our very best wishes and to those returning - we look forward to seeing you in the new school year!
Before the summer holidays arrive, we kindly ask you to take part in our annual survey. Do not worry, it only takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. We would appreciate the completion of the survey by Friday, July 16th. Parents who choose to complete the survey are automatically entered into our raffle and may win a family pass to the Zürich Zoo. Good luck!
Please may I kindly ask you to take home all children’s belongings, including, toys, slippers, bottles, cups, milk, cereal powder this week as the building will be refurbished starting at the end of this week. Any belongings that are unclaimed will be thrown away. The children in our holiday care next week, 19-23 July will be spending this week in our Tandem IMS Seefeld school. Parents will receive a door code for entry access into this building via e-mail.
For the first week of holiday care in the new school year, 09-13 August, the ground floor in the Zollikon building will be inaccessible. Entry access will be by the stairs at the side of the building. There will be a Tandem IMS team member at these stairs every morning from 07:30 in order to support families and children into the building. During this week there will be no car parking available outside the building, however Migros car park is more or less opposite the building and very convenient. We will also be unable to accommodate any buggies in the building during this time, please take your buggies home with you or you may leave them in the garden, at your own risk.
We are eagerly awaiting our new entrance and cloakroom area. With the renovations, we now also have greater fire safety restrictions. These directly limit the amount of storage space for personal buggies. Parents will no longer be able to leave their personal buggies in the entrance area. To solve this problem, we will have a shelving unit with spaces for twelve fully collapsable BABYZEN YoYo buggies. Tandem IMS will provide these buggies for easy travel to and from school. These will be available as of August 17th. Parents who wish to use a Tandem IMS buggy must complete a User Agreement. Should families already own a YoYo buggy or a similarly sized collapsable buggy, they are welcome to leave it in the shelving unit.
Many thanks for your support in maintaining a safe entrance area for all!
The Pre-Schoolers have had such a fun and exciting year. We had the opportunity to learn about different cultures, people, places, animals and other living things and even dinosaurs (our favourite). We welcomed in new friends and explored new topics together. The year started with discovering new traditions, songs, languages. We then gained a new friend ‘Blitz, the Elf’ who joined us from the North Pole and gave us lots of challenges. Learning all about rhymes and letters came next, followed by a visit from our friend T-Rex! Finally, we finished with plants, animals and bees, learning about how to care for all of the nature one sees. We had a great graduation and will miss our friends and teachers for sure, we’ve promised to visit and have double then or more!’ We wish you all a fantastic summer holiday and a great start in Kindergarten! We would like to thank all of the parents and PTA for a beautiful graduation. The children had a great time and enjoyed all of the day’s events such as the preparation, songs, slideshow, portfolios, diploma ceremony, and of course, the delicious cupcakes and ice-cream. It was also very heart-warming to see some of our friends and family waiting at the Zollikerstube to congratulate us! Thank you once again!
The Geckos have been enjoying an amazing year full of fun, learning and adventures. We have learned to become more independent every day! We loved the singing and dancing together that we participated in during the year and also our fun projects such as gardening and our special Disney Week. Although we are sad that this year is already coming to an end, we are happily looking forward to all of the new and exciting things coming up in the new school year. We wish the Gecko graduates a great new school year and cannot wait to hear all about their new Pre-School adventures!
The Frogs Group have had a fantastic year getting to know each other and each child has brought something special into the group. In our last weeks we have been celebrating lots of rituals to prepare the children ready for their next adventure into the Geckos group. We have had a wonderful year that has been so much fun!
The Seahorses Group have sent their best wishes to some of their friends who will be moving up to the Frogs Group. They are also looking forward to welcoming in some new friends after the summer holiday. The Seahorses Team would like to thank all of their families for a wonderful year, they have all helped make the group run smoothly and been essential in helping and encouraging the children in their development where they have really blossomed! We are looking forward to seeing everyone back in August.
Since Monday, July 12th, we have returned to our original Tandem IMS sickness policy of being 24-hours symptom-free. This means that children who experience one or more of the following conditions: fever, vomiting and/or diarrhoea - can only return to school once they have been 24 hours free of symptoms. Children with a temperature of 37.9 degrees or higher should stay at home (or will be sent home if this develops during the school day).
Many thanks for your continued support in this area!
All Tandem IMS Parents can only send their children to school if they can commit to the following (as completed in the Health Declaration):
My child and all other persons living in our household have no symptoms of Covid-19: sore throat, persistent cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fever (37.9 degrees or higher), loss of sense of smell and/or taste or body aches.
Our child has not knowingly been in contact with a person who has Covid-19 symptoms within the last 10 days.
No member of our family, or a person who our family has been in contact with, is planning to take a Covid-19 test or is awaiting a Covid-19 test result (either due to having symptoms or because of having been in contact with a person who has tested Covid-19 positive).
Currently, we are running a 24-hour sickness policy. This means that children who experience one or more of the following conditions: fever, vomiting and/or diarrhoea - can only return to school once they have been 24 hours free of symptoms. Children with a temperature of 37.9 degrees or higher should stay at home (or will be sent home if this develops during the school day).
