Registration for the TAP – Tandem Entrance Examination


The TAP is the entrance exam for all pupils who wish to join the Tandem IMS Kurzgymnasium programme. At Tandem, it’s about more than a single moment in time. We do not only look at what can be delivered on exam day, but at a child’s overall potential: development, strengths, and motivation.

Those interested in entering the Progymnasium will find all relevant information on admission requirements in the Admissions Regulations. The regulations for the Progymnasium, as well as the detailed requirements for the Kurzgymnasium, are clearly outlined there.

More than just an exam


The TAP for the Kurzgymi combines written examinations with a personal interview. This creates a well-rounded assessment — clear, fair, and individual. The admission interview with our school leadership adds what truly matters: personality, learning goals, and inner motivation. A short presentation is part of the process.

Tuesday, 14 April 2026 (All applicants)

08:00–09:30 Mathematics
10:00–10:45 German

11:15–12:45 German Essay

Wednesday, 15 April 2026 (Bilingual only)

08:00–09:00 English Reading

09:30–11:00 English Writing and Grammar

Admission Interviews

There will also be an interview. Pupils bring a short personal statement in which they share their interests, goals, and motivation for attending Tandem IMS Gymnasium.

Registration

To register, we require:

  • Completed registration form (an assessment fee will be charged)

  • The most recent autumn semester report card

Decision

Parents and pupils will receive the written decision on their admission by 20 April 2026. 
Parents will also receive a copy of the corrected written exams.
