Nestled by Lake Zurich, our Gymnasium in Küsnacht offers both bilingual (German–English) and monolingual (German-only) pathways leading to the Swiss Matura.
Our lakeside campus provides the ideal environment for focused learning, personal growth, and preparation for tertiary education, combining academic excellence with values such as curiosity, empathy, and responsibility.
Founded in 2025, Tandem IMS Gymnasium expands our long-standing bilingual approach from primary and secondary school into the final stage of education.
We are located in Küsnacht (Canton Zurich), just a few steps from the lake and the Küsnachter Horn: a calm, inspiring setting for our pupils to reach their full potential.
As part of the Tandem International Multilingual School, our Gymnasium builds on two decades of success in bilingual education and multilingual competence.
We prepare pupils for the Swiss Matura, which grants direct access to Swiss universities.

This demanding, performance-oriented programme corresponds to Sekundarstufe A and prepares students specifically for entry into the Kurzgymnasium.
The curriculum is taught in greater depth, and early insights into the focus areas Design Studies and Humanitarian Studies foster creative and analytical thinking from an early stage.
Performance-driven work habits, the development of effective learning and study techniques, as well as a fast working pace characterise the lessons.

After two years of Sek A or our Progymi, pupils move on to the Kurzgymi, where they continue developing bilingual skills, subject mastery, and project-based learning.
At this stage, pupils are encouraged to think critically, collaborate, and pursue academic interests in depth.

Depending on their chosen path, pupils prepare for either a bilingual (German–English) or a monolingual (German-only) Swiss Matura.
Both lead to university admission in Switzerland and abroad.

Our Design Studies curriculum is a pioneering feature, the first of its kind in Canton Zurich to be part of a Swiss Matura programme.
Pupils learn to create innovative, sustainable solutions that connect aesthetics, functionality, and social responsibility.
It equips pupils with real-world design and technology skills through:

At Tandem IMS, we integrate Humanitarian Action and Sustainability across all levels.
Our Humanitarian Studies pathway combines elements of Wirtschaft und Recht with a global perspective on sustainability, human rights, and non-profit leadership. Pupils will:
Our Gymnasium bridges Design and Humanitarian Studies, encouraging human-centred, sustainable design thinking.
Pupils learn to use technology and creativity to serve people and the planet, exploring inclusive, ethical, and eco-friendly solutions that reflect empathy and innovation.
Tandem IMS Gymnasium promotes:
In a world influenced by social media and self-promotion, our mission is to redirect attention toward sustainability and collective well-being.
We encourage pupils to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges, developing a sense of purpose that extends beyond academic success.

Internal pupils from Tandem IMS can be admitted without an entrance exam if they meet the required academic standards and demonstrate motivation and social responsibility.
External applicants complete a written exam in March and attend an in-depth interview with the school leadership to discuss interests, learning goals, and motivation.
Our Gymnasium Küsnacht campus lies between the lakeside and hillside, a peaceful natural setting that inspires focus and creativity.
This proximity to Zurich city offers convenience while maintaining a calm, village-like learning environment.
